Nice to see your as tired as I am LOL I understand the working the weekend on the boat.....
As far as your stringers,cut out whats rotted and you can splice in new wood. I did the same thing,install new wood and use a splice block extending at least 12" on either side of your splice. Look at my resto thread and you'll see what I did. Keep on the mission...it will be worth it when your out on the water enjoying your hard work!

So can u tell me what kind a plywood did u use for stingers.Cause i wanna do exactly same like u did. i dont wanna pull all stinger out cause little peace is roten.and also what did u use for floor since i cannot find marine plywood in my area.

O my Gosh Im tired as a dog... 7 Days on M..F.. Deck and Floors,so finaly,i took old Stingers out and build new one,install them on wednesday and day after we install bulkheads to.now they dried so good. last night we did some Cardboard cutout for floor,and today floor was cut and ready to get fiberglassed.I just dont know should i use fiberglass all over or just on top,and bottom just do a resin.. Any answer will be appritiated. Also we did install tank , My Friend is already working on seats desing.So we will be in water at no time.
Today i order Hitch Transmision cooler and trailer conectors for my Acura Tl.
Can wait to put boat in water for test drive....Very tired im sorry i didnt put any pics,i was bussy by boat..

Hello boaters am back, we got deck in and ready to get secure with fumed silica,hopefully it will work.Not Realy sure how but my guess is it will be fine.
Also im going to do top of deck with fiberglass 6 oz and poly resin,can afford epoxy so my question is should i lay 2 layers or just one than do a primer on it..Here is some pictures of deck in and seat desing that we will go for it..

dado78 and NYBO I'm doing much the same to my 1991 Capri. Will try to post some current photos when I figure how to do so. My boat is coming along with some cockpit upholstery to be completed.

O my god.Im done with floor and now seat desing is coming along. Only thing i got now to worry is where to find a foam for seats and vynil.Cause i dont wanna pay 29$ for yard of vynil. Any CLue. I know u guys know.
Also what we did we cut all wires on boat and put new ones in.Check wire conections and found problem with fuse box,so bough that too new and now all electric parts are working properly.
I also decide to cover my bow area completly and make one lounge bed. When not in use i can store seat under and install removable fishing chairs.
So sofa all over a boat with storage room under every seat.already bought a primer rustoleum to primer my floor and lounge boxes. I hope that i could use Rustoleum Paint for deck.
what do u guys think of that... please let me know.

I have been picking up foam for my seat cushion in the trash Old couch cushions that people throw out....one mans trash

hehe i how did i not think about that. That is such a good idea. Cause i just calculate my seats. Total vinyl is 20 ft x 15 ft and foam i was going to do 2"x"24"x10 feet,then i figure out only foam is going to cost me 200$ Since my bow is going to be closed all the way than big seat will be put on.that i can remove when fishing.

Ok guys I did some work today inside,cause bad tunderstorm is over us.
here is some pictures let me now what do u think. Vinyl is from walmart 3.97 a yard,and foam from Hobby Lobby Store.



I hope this look good for first timer.
Back seats i will be doing maybe next week. After im done with glass

what do u thing about resto-leum paint. I wanna do my deck Resto-leum Primer than paint with some sand.

I prefer gel coat but have read some guys use the Rust Oleum paint method..... I guess it's ok for a few years but won't last and need to be redone from time to time.

Yeah thats what im going to do. I already got restoleum primer to go over glass.So wondering can i use gel coat on it or i have to go with rustorleum paint now.
Its raining here i can do anything till friday.Very bad storms are going thru. Im mad as ....... cause deam weather wont go in my favor while im on spring brea. Moday i need to back to work.I hope i will do some work over weekend.

O guys it's April 1 in 3 days is going to be a month since i got boat and start restoring.. Here is a Pictures of proof... From this to this in a month.
1 month 1 guy 1 weekly check to many bills and i made it so far that i cannot belive my self...
What do u thing of this now. It is going to be lot of storage compartments under seats. Still trying to figure out Livewel.and cooler place.

Looks like it's coming along nicely! I can't wait to see the finished product! After looking at this thread, I want to try and attempt to install the vinyl in my boat for the side pieces like you did. How did were you able to add different colors and kind of create the lines in the wider blue closer towards the back of the boat? I love the storage idea, I do believe that I'll have to use that, of course you will get credit for it since it won't be my idea! ha

Actualy im changing whole seats arrangments on boat.Setup that i have now is not working so everthing coming out that i already did with vinyl. here is a picture what im going to do now. Dont know who did this job but im trying to figure out how he did seats. I already got sides cut and done. just cannot figure out how he did seats.

I'm working on a 86 capri cuddy myself... mine was not as bad... going to use it this spring and summer and maybe redo the floors this winter.

That's similar to what I'm going with interior wise, but with captain chair's for the front 2.

Well im actualy going to do a Cobra Seating in capri. I went to my friend house and he got cobra so i look at seats and i like it,so thats why all changes.still cannot decide what to do with bow area.
Bad Bad storm comming thru Jax so i got to cover for some time..
Also did u cover your seat boxes with fiberglass or only resin.

I haven't got that far yet, since I'm still just working on the floor still. However, what I will be doing is glassing the bottom's and sides of the seats where the seats come in contact with the boat some where and the rest of the seats will just be resin, probably 2 coats at least. There's no way in hell I can afford the epoxy resin, so everything will have to suffice with a polyester resin. lol
