Okay well right now me and my dad have a j-16 and we like it in all but it was never what we actually wanted, it was just so i could go fishing. But considering now is the time to buy a boat we were thinking about getting a new one, but honestly i don't know the boat that will suit me the best.

To start off, I do not pull tubes or ski/wakeboard off of my boat.
The main fishing i like to do is for tarpon, snook, trout, and reds. But i also like to go offshore for mackerel during the winter.

I would like it to float pretty skinny but not super skinny.
I fly and spin fish.

what boat in your experience would fit me the best

19-21' center console.

you have a bit of a conflict--a bay boat design is great for flats and skinny water; a deep v with a high bow for offshore. I suggest you think about which you do more, buy accordingly, and charter the other (which I bet will be the off shore) or just be ready to pick your days.

Don't get a T top if you fly fish; use a bimini or beach umbrella when needed.

Well the first thought that comes to mind is a Flats Boat...... a nice platform above the motor and wide open for fishing. It really depends on your budget.... Have you checked the iboats classifieds? http://boats.iboats.com/
