Re: new boat possible problem
No haven't tried other heights yet mainly because I don't have a clue as to where it should be besides in the water. Like I said before I haven't found any info about engine height that hasn't been contradicted by someone else. I haven't contacted south bay yet no. I have contacted the dealer whom we got the boat from, I'll explain why we're tired of dealing with them.
Bought the boat last year in August. We wanted a stainless steal prop that was recommended for the boat, they didn't have one in stock so they said bring it back when they would put the trim tilt sensor on because that wasn't installed yet. Why it wasn't, I have pno idea. So when we had time we took it out before the season ended. Realised a trash can door hinge was broke, that the speed wasn't where it should be, and the the motor would overheat in turns. Contacted the dealer they said the prop would fix the last two problems and that the trash door would be warrantied. We took the boat back in February for repairs, they said 2 weeks. We waited a month still no call. So we contacted them, they said the trim tilt sensor was still not in even though they said they'dorder one when we bought the boat in August. Another month goes by we call'm and they say its done. I drive an hour and a half to pick it up and the trim tilt sensor is installed and the prop is installed. I ask if the prop fixed the overheating and speed issues and they acted like I was crazy and didn't tellm a thing about it. After arguing with and showing them the paperwork that stated the problems they still didn't believe me and said I could've just wrote that in. I walk out to the boat and make sure the prop that was on the motor before was in the boat like we were told it wold be and it wasn't. I go back in and asks bout it and they say they told the tech to put it in there and he must've forgot. They go back to find it and come back saying with one saying they think that's the right one after waiting 20 minutes for them to find it. Get the boat back home and realise I forgot the check the trash can door. I go check it and you called it, still broken.
The terrible service and 2 month wait for common fixes are the reasons why I would rather not deal with them again.
Sorry for the book, I kinda got angry thinking bout it.
There is a transducer on the back of the left pontoon. Could that little thing really interrupt enough water to make a difference?
