Hey everyone, Im new to the site but I need some info if anyone has got it. My buddy wants to trade me my 17ft Sea Ray Tahoe for some strange boat the supposedly 20ft with an I/B V8 and a tri hull design. The probelm I am having is that he says its a "la hoya". I google it and nothing about boats. Is this thing legit or does he have some mixed up info? I thought that maybe he mixed up the name of the vessel but he swears its a "la hoya tri hull". I am going to see the boat before the trade so I know if Im getting the shaft or not but the question lingers..... WTF, if anything, is a la hoya tri hull? or is that a model of a boat or is he blowing some steam up my wahzoo? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: New boat prospect

Sorry, I haven't heard of it either. In fact I have a similar problem.

I just bought a 1996 19.2 ft Hydro Boss 2000. Doing a search on the HIN I find tha it is made by T. D. Penny Company in Marshallville, GA. Other than that I can't find anything.
It is a center cockpit with a 115 Mercury outboard. It looked good, has a good trailer and sea trials went well so I bought it. I am just looking into some more information on the boat to see if there are any items I should keep an eye on like blisters, transom problems, etc.
I have owned boats for years but I normally went with known to me brands like Glasstron for power boats and S-2 and O'Day for sailing.

Any help/info on the Hydro Boss 2000 is appreciated.

so many different brands of boats have come and gone that who made the boat really has very little relavents.so many companys have come and gone or been bought and sold. the basics are all the same between brands, only the quality of parts used changes.

I thought he might have meant "La Jolla" boats.I googled La Jolla and got nothing under boat manufacturers.

DeepSea - Get the HID off the upper right corner of the transom when you go see it. The first three letters represent the manufacturer and you can look them up.

Did you mean that it's an inboard engine? If it's an inboard and a funny tri-hull design, maybe it's an older ski boat, in which case if well taken care of it could be a good trade for you. Of course, it will ride rougher than your current boat.

Also, you seem worried that your buddy might be screwing you - is he really your buddy?

It's not a surprize this boat doesn't show online. The Apollo I own was made in Spokane,WA and that I got off the ID plate. Nothing online.

The key words for you here are CAUTION and CAUTION!!!!! if you're happy with your current outfit, then keep it. Oh, paranoia never hurts in these situations. ;)

Having a problem with my Fisher 1997 FS20. Nothing on NADA for 97, but has the boat in 98.
What do you do with the first 3 letter on the hid badge. Mine is BUJ where do you put these letters into?

Im wary of anyone who tries to sell me anything. Just a thing I have. He is a buddy but he has a "questionable" history. Yes it is an inboard engine and he has used it as a ski boat. Thanks for all the help though!
