HI all..

I will be in a market of buying a brand new boat. I really like the new full aluminum deep V tracker boats 19' with a 200HP outboard. The only dealer I really have around where I live is the Tracker Store and Bass Pro. So my question is can you go to them and negotiate a price like you would going to buy a new car? When I talked to them they looked at me like I fell from the sky after I asked if the price was negotiable.

Thanks
Zipp

Boat sales are up 75% this year I just read. It is a seller's market now. What also surprised me is the sales of small utility trailers. There is a trailer dealer just up the road from me that normally has 30 or so on the lot at any time and now he is lucky to have eight or ten at a time sitting there. He told me when he gets new ones in over half of them have already been sold. He can't even explain why but isn't complaining.

Well the boat I am interested in is a special order so I have to get it ordered. I will probably get it next May since I don't want to do anything right now because fishing season is coming up and don't want to sell my boat. I know things are crazy these days, but lets say we get out of this COVID stupidity would I still be able to negotiate? I have never brought a vehicle for sticker price, and I am not going to start now :)

I would suggest: Once the dealer has provided the description and price, don't ask if is negotiable. Of course he will say, no .Look it over and make an offer. Good luck

Certain boat brands have non-negotiable pricing. As a result they limit their dealerships to no closer than several hundred miles apart so there is no competition.

Tracker prices are fixed. The only "deals" you may receive could be waiving dealer prep or other service fees.

Trackers are lower cost to begin with. The sticker prices are not inflated like some other brands.
