That may very well be. Typically I've not seen the boat manufacturers making trailers, rather purchasing from the trailer manufacturers. A 6 lug axle is good, but it doesn't tell the OP anything about how much weight it's designed to handle.

Load Rite Products - Boat Trailers - Galvanized Roller - Single Axle

Load Rite's biggest single has a capacity of 3600 lbs, it comes with a 5200 capacity axle, 12" brakes and ST 225/75-15 tires. If that's the same specs on the OPs trailer then it may be adequate.

To the OP, I looked at your pic....
The size of the trailer looks fine, you just need more drop on your drawbar. I use a 4" drop on my 2007 Grand Cherokee and my single axle (also on 15" tires and 225/75-15 tires) tows level. Yours is too high up front.

Haven't seen very many single axle trailers rated for 5200#. Venture's largest single axle holds 3325, Yacht club's is 3500#...Eagle has one that goes to 4200#.

Once again - not really. Very common on ski boat trailers. Finding an E rated trailer tire isn't a big deal and they don't have to be expensive either:

Easy to find E rated tires. I actually have them with my 225/15 tires only because my tire guy couldn't locate D rated in the time frame i needed them.
