Hello guys I just picked up a boat that has twin chev305 motors with omc outdrives, the boat has been stored for 10yrs, I did the standard stuff of changing oils and fuel, and lubed the clyinders before starting, motors and outdrives work fine *thank god* The problems I have are stupid, and I thought I need a fresh idea on which way to go, before spending a lot of money, on one motor I have no power to the gauges, the one motor that I have power to the gauges has two 12volt batteries in line, I guess that its a 24volt system? the motor that doesnt have power to the gauges only has one large 12volt truck battery, do you think the reason why I'm not getting power to the gauges, is that I need 24volts on that side? it has a perko switch and with the switch on both, I still dont have power, everything is hooked up. The other problem I'm having is that, the motor that I have power to the gauges wont start by the key, I jump the siloniod and starts up fine, I know those old OMC's (1978) have a poisioneer switch on them, I looked at it and parts are missing, Can I just remove that to make it start?? any advice will help....Thanks
