Hey don't feel left out on your own... I bounced my skeg three times on the ramp enough to bounce my trailer retrieving my boat. 3rd time I spent an afternoon repairing my bent skeg back to something resembling straight and filing the nicks out of it. Just get your routine down and do NOT change a thing once you got it down.

At a very small lake last year we were trout fishing and saw a fellow put his wife in a small boat, back into the water and gave the boat just that little "extra" ommmmf as he stopped, to get it moving off the trailor..well it DID..she has no oars(they are in the truck still) and no other means to power this boat...(lake is electric motor only or oars). we heard the wife yelling at her husband and looked up to see her sailing away(was windy too, LOL). Of course this is a small lake, about 50 acres, but the wife was not happy! She tried hands, no good there...finally another guy came over and towed her back in. Then they put their oars in the water and I would bet his ears were burning a little!

I wonder if he really wanted any ' assistance ' ....lol :D

Yeah, his plans might have been ruined by a good samaritan....

Why do guys keep drains plugs in the truck?

Don't know... I keep the plug in the splashwell and two extras in a storage compartment on the boat...

Also, part of my trip routine is the start the engine and let it run for a few minutes on muffs while I hook up and get ready to go. So, when it is shut off, the key goes in the truck then. Never forgot the keys or putting in the plug...

1 in the splashwell, 1 each port and starboard storage bins, 1 in the truck glovebox, two in the toolbox. GOD help the poor SOB who says " I can't find a bilge plug.":D
