I recently decided to get into boating after a trip with a few friends of mine. I have never owned a boat previously, so I enlisted the help of a boat enthusiast friend to help check for potential problems. I have found a 1989 Bayliner Capri, 16' open bow w/traier and 85hp Force engine. the trailer is in decent shape, hull has been beached, but no real problems. The interior is a different story, the seats are in rough shapewith rips and weather cracking, the floor access panel need replacing, but the rest of the floor seems sturdy. The Tach is missing, and the horn, lights and bilge switches do not work. The negine is a different story. It is in excelent (according to my friend) shape, It starts, runs, shifts and accelerates, and the stering and throtle controls are in working order. I bought the boat for $950.00, with plans of cleaning/fixing it up, how did I do?
