I wanted to say hello, you have a great forum here with tons of great info. I just bought a 91 sea ray 170, it runs great but does need a little work on the interior. I took it out this weekend down to havre de grace md and had a lot of fun until I ended up hitting something and shearing the fins off of the propeller, my question is where is the best place to purchase a new prop for me boat?

I think the answer is going to be... right here at iBoats.com!

Seriously, I just bought a pair of props (for two different style of performance) from iBoats.com and added in a bunch of accessories. When I realized I made a mistake on one of the items, I called the 800- number and got great service.

Even if you find a (slightly) lower price somewhere, are they hosting and supporting a great forum like this? I'm satisfied with iBoats and I think you will be too.

We just bought a Bayliner 3055 and we don't see a drain plug in the hull. Do you have one on yours and where is it??

Welcome to the forums phreakboy!

iboats is a great forum and you will not do wrong buying from them...but I would also recomend you contact your local boat dealers and speak to their parts departments. They can put you onto referbished props in either aluminum or Stainless Steal at a fraction of new cost. They are so cheap you can buy a couple at different pitchs and then swap them out for whatever situation you are facing for the weekend. If you want a better whole shot or if you are planning on doing some longer cruising.

Best of luck!

Welcome to iboats neighbor- I keep my boat in Havre de Grace.
I agree that iboats should be supported thru parts purchases, but in this case I think Texas Parrothead is correct about going local.
The best local prop shop is 'MR Props' on Hances Point Road in Northeast, Md. Phone 410-287-7453. Take what's left of your old prop- it might be rebuildable.
