All season I have known my chair was on its way out. A couple of weeks ago it said to me I'm done. Fix me or I'll break your back when you fall. So being and Upholsterer I took it off the boat to repair it. I was hoping it was the rotted plywood base. But when I got it apart I found the back frame tube was rusted away. Not worth fixing. So I went on the hunt for a new chair and found a nice one. Aso a new pedestal that raises me to a desired height and my wife and I installed it today at a local sandy shoreline. I anchored in about in about 2-3 feet of water and could get under the boat nicely on my knees. 6 bolts off a little clean up under the old mount, 5 holes drilled and 6 bolts on. Piece of cake. I just tell the story because I was happy today having a new comfortable seat that I wasn't worried about breaking on me.

So how much did you have to drink when the seat threatened to break your back? Congrats on the new seat and easy install. Usually I think it will be a piece of cake install until I run into the problem!
