With the advancement of 7/8"composite home deck board-would this make a good substrate for rebuilding the deck on boats? Any foreseen problems that I might encounter?
Also, if that would not work-what about 3/4" pure acrylic sheet substrate? then putting rubber or carpet over that.

both are heavy, they really have not come up with anything that really beats, glass and plywood. other than the full glass lined boats, of new.

Storm, The composite deck is extremely heavy may not be able to form a waterproof seal with the hull. Bothe of these properties are drawbacks. In addition, the composite lumber doesn't have much strenght. Another drawback. Stick with 1/2 PT CDX plywood. Dry it in a rack for a week or so before using it.
