Re: New coupler says "Top Holes Not For MTG"

The pipe over the thru bolts inside the tongue is a good one.
Better than mine with the threaded stud and cheaper too.
The pipe kinda ties the sides together, does not allow over torque and wall collaspe and the wall strengths of all are working with each other at the same time.
The tru bolt with nothing inside does not clamp the tongue wall with the coupler wall on either side. Nor does it do anything to combine the four pieces of sheet metal into one strong combo.

Thanks. :D

I spent $2 on the stainless bolt, nut and washer so I may as well use one of the top holes to bolt it to the trailer. But now I will know for next time jsut to use the sides.

lol!!!

I just re-read what I typed last night!!

I mean to say that along with the needed side bolts I bought one to go through the top. Since I paid $2 for the bolt and the rest to go through the top I may as well use it. Next time I'll just get the side bolts. lol!!

BTW folks, don't paint your coupler with Krylon. I primed it and did mine in yellow. Did everything 100% perfect. Even let it cure for 4 days, however, while putting it on my trailer I found the stuff is not strong enough and chips easily. I may scrub it down with acetone next summer. ugh! :(
