After nearly losing my wife to a near fatal stomach problem 6/25 and the 3 1/2 weeks in the hospital and she's bi-polar, her recovery has been hell for all of us here. The one thing that made a differance was our next door neighbor asked us if we would take care of there 2 6 month old Basset Hound puppies my wife fell in love with them and there was a marked differance her personallity and those nasty swings were gone, to make a long story short, I bought a 9 week old AKC regitstered female named Nikki and had her flown in from Kanasas to Connecticut and while she was at the doctors Tuesday I picked her up at the airport and she was here when she got home, I got mucho brownie points for this one.....It's nice to have my wife back

That's a wonderful story and I'm glad things are working out for the better. I used to have a Basset. Wonderful dog unless you're the trash collector or the meter reader.

Excellent news, Blu Lunch. :)

Who couldn't be charmed by that pup? Dogs are the greatest secret therapy known to man.

Wow, Blu.. Judging by the expression on that cutey's face, I'd say y'all are going to have your hands full. And she is indeed, a cutey.
Great to hear about the wife's improvement.

Bassets are so kewl!

Congratulations! I hope this eases the recovery and helps your wife. Therapy dogs are very popular in nursing facilities. Cute pup!

Good deal Blu. Glad to hear your wife is better.
They have 3 dogs here in my County that is used to visit cancer patients here.
Sorry to say, the terminal ones are the ones they visit most, but have to say it brightens their otherwise awful life.
Good luck with the pup and better luck with the wife's health.

My wife bought a 8 week old male Bassett 3 weeks back. I wish she would run things by me first, as we now have 5 dogs. He seems to have a bladder control issue, or he gets really thirsty. Nasty thing will urinate in his crate and lap it up.

Oh yeah, glad to hear things are looking up for you and the wife.
