I can't find a place to get another flywheel. I cracked the ring with teeth going around the flywheel. I can't find anywhere to get a replacement. Does anyone know how to get one??

Obviously it's electric start otherwise you could still use the pull start.

Not meaning to embarass you, but how did you manage to crack that ring gear? That should be pretty tough stuff. Just wanting to know so that others will know not to make the same mistake.

Yeah well it was dark in my carport when i was working on it and i guess the claw of the puller was right next to where it was bolted down and just popped. Its embarrassing but that's life.

There is a list of salvage yards in the "Top secret File" at the top of this forum.

NEVER use a claw puller on an outboard flywheel! Use a harmonic puller that uses the three holes in the center of the flywheel...

Watch eBay - flywheels turn up there all the time. Make sure you get one for the magneto ignition, not the low-tension ignition flywheel. Magneto will have ONE magnet, LT will have TWO magnets...

Nows the time to scan craigslist for a parts motor. I just bought one for $75 and I figure for the one part I needed, it paid for itself, plus now I have a motor to cannibalize in the future for parts.
