New fuel pressure regulator

I want to install a new regulator. And have a couple questions. First do I have to depressurize the fuel system and are the y easy to change ? Motor is a 4.3 Volvo GXI. Thanks

Remove the cap off the shrader valve. Have a rag ready to cover over valve (item 22) and depress the valve which will release pressure. Now the regulator can be changed out

should not be more than a couple of ounces of fuel that discharges . . . paper towels under the valve area should do the trick.

Looks like the list price for the regulator (VP calls it a 'governor') is $250 ish :faint2:

I hope it really needs to be changed

If its the screen yes. Are you sure its the regulator?

Nothing wrong with how it runs. Just don't know if its ever been cleaned or changed.
