New grey fuel line

Can anyone tell me why the newer fuel line/hose collapses at any connection? 2 boats won’t run for more than a couple minutes after hitting throttle. I’ve pulled a couple lines and found at the connections, the inner clear liner was completely collapsed. Using 3/8 inch line. The grey stuff from marine shops. Have 4 different connection on my boat. All are plugged.. inner liner collapsed.

Its ethanol fuel that's doing it. Replace all lines, filters and use line that states SAE J1527 type B1

Yep ,probly alcohol in the fuel ........and you should probly pick a different forum signature .

Same old story, buy the best and your done or keep replacing it every year.
The price of two junk gray hoses will cover the cost of a quality A1 fuel line that will last for many years.

Automotive fuel line isn't USCG approved

A1 for use under the decks...fire resistant
B1 Outboard hose...not fire resistant

I have this feeling that these grey fuel lines that you are talking about are from before the year 2000 .the newer outboard fuel lines are impervious to ethanol and will not rot out or collapse , unless you are using very high percentage ethanol fuel.

Hmmm...did not know that, but...purchased a new gray hose about 5 years ago and it fell apart ( the inside collapsed )two years later and I replaced it with A1 fuel line and it still looks like new..no issues.
