Hey everyone, just want to first say thanks to this site as there's a lot of info that seems to be nowhere else regarding boats, I was able to use a lot of threads and info to determine my purchase, I finally pulled the Trigger though I bought my first boat, when I went to see this boat is was in great shape and well looked after by the owner so I just had to.
It's a 1980's 15ft Sunray (owner said it's an 80, not 100% sure as the motor is a tad newer), the plaque says it's a "Catalina" model which seems to have almost no info out there, the motor according to the tag on it is a 1984 Johnson 70 Sea Horse, which recently had some maintenance done and coils replaced. I cannot start the motor yet as it's currently -13C (feels like -19C) in Ontario, so we don't want to cause any issues at this moment with freezing/expanding water.
I found a brochure for 1984 Sunray boats and on the description was the Catalina model listed, however they don't show any pictures, only the cover of the brochure. The closest information I could find that come close to the description was before 1980s was for a 78 Sunray (Canada) SV-150, also for after 1980s was the Sunray (California) TR-25 for 1981 and the TRII-15 for 83 which were very similar in size and weight but none mentions "Catalina" in the model description.
Basically wanted to determine the total weight of boat and trailer, I'm currently estimating at round 2100-2300lbs, will be pulling it with a 2008 RAV4 V6 so it should be well within the 3500lb capacity of the vehicle.
Here's some pics I took, hoping to pick it up in the next week or so.
