Re: New guy here, saying hello also pics of my IO to OB conversion

Yea your right, it's not pretty but it works great, and once I get some paint on it and the boat it will blend in a lot better and not stick out like a sore thumb. Probably make it look a LOT better then!!!

Here are a couple of pics of the inside plate I put in there. And the floor that I added. These pics are from yesterday, I am redoing the inside of the boat so you can't see the bottom where the motor sat anymore.

That's quite the setup. I bet the 175 will be monster for you. good luck with the rebuild.

Oh it opens up lots of room. That is one of the benifits I like about it!! Nice open floor plan.

I started another thread on my rebuild process. I have the new carpet in the back so far. It turned out great!!

Here is the thread link

And a couple of pics of the carpet installed

Hey Rolander, great info and pics.
I don't want to hi-jack this thread but wanted to share that I too converted my I/O to an O/B. I just mounted the Yami 150hp last Sunday and am now working on the wiring and mounting the gauges. Hope to have it done in a week or two.
Again, great job you did.

Hey man can you upload the picture to the forum like I did, I can't view most photo hosted sites from work so the picture comes in as a red X for me

even though you have a *shudder* fiberglass boat, you should try and make it to tinstock, an all starcraft gathering in june in virginia...

the carpet looks nice!

I had no idea there was such a gathering. I would love to make it down there, doubt it would happen this year though. I have a ton of motorcycle rally's to attend in June already. Is this an annual thing? I am assuming it is.

Nice job Reel - that Yammi looks bad azz on there! I like the red, black and silver colour scheme of those motors. My 4 stroker is kind of a non-descript lump in comparison - all one shade of gray and all...:). Great motor but an eye-catcher, she ain't!

Nice carpet work too Rolander. That boat's coming along. Like others have said, the amount of space you get back throwing the motor overboard (literally :D) makes a convincing argument for the conversion.

Re: New guy here, saying hello also pics of my IO to OB conversion

tried my 175 Evinrude Satruday on my old IO to OB conversion. What a difference from that 140 V-4!!! She really plains out nice now. I picked up a few MPH. Went from 43 to about 51-52 mph. She really drinks the fuel now though!!! That's ok I love the torque and take off. At 35 I punch the throttle and you can feel the boat lunge and take off. The 140 would just dog and creep up in milage. This one is touch and GO!!!!

Here are a couple of pics from me looking back as my bro in law was driving and checking it out.

Hey Rolander, that pic looks sweet! Hopefully I'll have mine in the water soon. Dang weather has been nasty to do much on the boat lately.

Again, congrats on your conversion.
