Well, I figured I'd post since I'm sure I'll be posting more this winter as I start my new project. Just over a month ago I traded one of my former project cars (I'm a Saab fanatic) a 1995 Saab 900 Turbo convertible for this 1991 Conquest 1650 I/O with a 3.0L OMC Cobra. I'd been looking for a smaller open bow speed boat for some time, and finding someone that wanted to trade for a convertible going into a WI winter was... difficult? :D

Anyways on with some pictures.

The car I traded

My car hooked up to the new boat before leaving with it (yes, I'm planning on towing it with that)

The boat! (after some fun on the lake)

Plans for the boat.
1. Fix the soft spot in the floor
2. Work on the interior - it needs some work, not a ton but some.
3. Do some work on the out drive - more preventative maintenance since it engages smoothly and doesn't have any issues (that I know of)
4. Fix the gauges
5. Buff the exterior.

I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting.

Oh and how do I setup my signature... I can't figure it out for the life of me

Thanks,
Joe Reichard

Thanks! Luckily it's in my heated garage (which is kept at 45* in winter). I'm still going to winterize it, just in case. I just haven't gotten to it yet.

Here's a garage shot, or two :D

It's been reorganized a bit though since those pics were taken... And I got a new air compressor, and a parts washer...

Thanks Guys! Well after reading a lot on the forum here (and going through Friscoboaters threads) I'm pretty sure this is going to be more than "redecking" the boat... Oh well, good thing we're going into winter so I have 3-4 months to work on this thing and get it tip top for next year... I pulled the access panel over the gas tank yesterday and found water (probably explains my gas gauge kinda sometimes working), as well as cutting through the carpet above the soft area... Yup, lots of water in there, so I'm sure the stringers are probably garbage as well.

At least I like projects and a challenge, and figured this boat would be one this winter when I got it. Looks like there will be a restoration thread for this thing coming up. This could get interesting since I'm completely new to owning a boat, much less restoring one. Luckily I've got a little bit of experience in larger projects, mainly car projects though.
