new here qustion about merc 3.0 alpha one

hey guys i am looking at purchasing a boat this sunday that has merc 3.0 alpha one. i have never owned a i/o only PWC's. can i spray down the engine with CRC marine to keep the engine from getting damaged by salt just incase some water may splash inside the engine compartment?

i thought so. i mean why not, it kept my honda aquatrax so prestine, i sold it for what i bought it for. you could eat of the engine
