Ya those seat boxes suck!! I hated mine and went to town on them as well. You will love the space if you are switching to pedestals. If you haven't done the conversion before, there is a ton of info on here for what to do with the bases, attaching to the deck, etc. Have fun

Yeah they take up so much room! I got both out and getting ready to rip the floor out now. Thanks for the info dez. Im going to build bench seats down the sides and then a pedestal seat the the captain chair. I want some extra storage under the bench's they'll be fairly basic but I think I'm going to love the layout much better.
