Is using bardybacker for a replacment of wood for floor a good idea??? it says its water proof and mold resistant

please let me know.

Its kinda heavy, and has little load strength, except over a substrate, like a wood floor :rolleyes:

If you mean in a boat, I would say no. See post above me.

In your home over a solid base it is wonderful.

well i have acouple soft spots 2 or 3 and i wanted to just lay a extra layer on top and i got it for free so i was hoping it could be a cheap fix. i want to streghten it with some resin and hardner that i already have.

All the backer board in the world won't fix your boat, you have rot below the deck that just decking over the top won't fix.

Fiberglass boats rot from the inside out and the bottom up, by the time the rot has reached the decking the damage has been long done below deck.
