I have a 1981 Johnson 140. One of the plug wires keeps coming off. We have tried several things and now I think my best bet is to buy a new one. My plug wires are made into the ignition coil. When looking at replacements the new ones are made seperate. Is there any difference and if I change one should I change all 4?

Other than the wire connections? The newer ones may be a bit better built.

Re: New Ignition Coils on 81 Johnson 140

Welcome to iboats!
For the next question, please open a new thread and title it something like "Ignition help 1967 40 HP", so more people will look at it that have interest in the 40 HP twins. Some won't even look at a thread for a 140 HP

Your motor is a 1967 40 HP RK-29
Parts are easy to find.
Read the "TOP SECRET" post at the top of the forum for info on the coils and points.
