Okay-
Im a NJ native, and been in Illinois/STL,MO area for almost 7 years now. I've been restoring my boat for almost 3 years and now its actually water worthy at the moment and the rebuilt Inline 6 I just did is in dyer need of a maiden voyage/water test.

Problem is, I've only been on ONE person's boat out here and that was in Lake of the Ozarks. My boat isn't fit for that and that is Haul from my location. I know Carlyle lake isn't too far, but was wondering if anyone had any tips on what boat ramp is best? Or any other locations maybe closer to me that I can familiarize myself with the trailer and launching practices with this boat. I'll be going during the week to try and cut down on ramp traffic for my first time with this boat/trailer/truck combo.

My location---- Ofallon, Illinois (Near St. Clair Mall on 64)
My boat------- 1972 Sidewinder 18SS w/ 76 Merc 1150 Outboard

I'm on vacation this week with my wife and would really like to get her splashed during that time period....

Anybody? I had some delays with making sure all my safety/legal stuff was in order. But I'm practically ready to give it a dip...
Just looking for a good location to get out on.
