I have identified a new illness, and feel the world should know of it's symptoms and treatment.

Name - Acute/Chronic Parasympathetic Fisiemia Fatalis

Symptoms - Inability to walk past a fisherman without stopping for a chat.
Inability to walk past a fishing store.
Any purchasses requiring a large vehicle to carry the purchase home.
Hiding fishing gear around the house.
Secretly looking at fishing gear after the hours of darkness.
Anybody called Miloman.
Physical sickness when unable to fish for more than 1 week.
Automatic salavation when you observe another rig going down the road towards the ramp/dock.
Perferring to go fishing even when your wife stands naked in front of you asking for sex.
Asking for a fishing buddy instead of a priest onthe death bed.

Treatment -
There is no known treatment for this condition, many wives have tried but no one has recorded their successes without recourse to divorce.
People have been known to live with this condition.

Interactions - Work, most CPFF sufferers have obliging employers who understand the need for constant fishing, either that or they are the employers.
Most bankers love the spending the CPFF sufferrer does as it stimulates them to earn even more money.

We could start a support group, now that it is
recognized and legitimized.

Re: New Illness

Now there's an idea. Membership would only be limited to those who have more fishing gear than me! I'd be able to visit and support you all in you're own homes and of course you'd have to take me fishing and use some of the gear you own. In return you'd all come to my house and go out with me.
We could meet every day with a 'y' in it and we'd start the meetings with a short story, something like this.
"Hello everybody, my names Ross and I'm a Chronic Parasympathetic Fisiemia Fatalis sufferer. When do we go fishing?"
We could have telephone counselling and/or use the internet!
Great idea.
Ross

There is also a known eye infection that accompanies this disorder. It's known to make it impossible to see yourself going into work until you've spent x number of hours on the lake. Seems to effect me more and more these days.

Re: New Illness

Hey this is great guys, my wife asked, after reading this, if there would be a support group for 'significant others' to get togeather and talk about how this illness affects them so they best can understand it!

What do peoples significant others think eh!

Jgun, good point. I'm certain there's a hearing defect along the same lines......
Ross
