I have a '96 112 SPL. The other day when I was flushing the motor, I noticed the motor took a little longer than normal to start "peeing". When I felt the water it was very warm to hot, I normally feel it everytime I flush it and it is cool. The stream was strong though. Any thoughts?

The water pump and impeller are the same thing. The impeller is the rubber piece with the fins that rotates inside the pump housing. Sounds like the thermostat may be stuck shut.

or the impeller is failing. and i'm shooting impeller, as the thermo has little to do with the pee stream, the outlet for the pee stream, is the last in the system for fill, the block fills with water, and the excess is out the pee stream, the poppet valve opens to let the pressure off the water system until the thermostat opens. a slow starting stream, says to me the impeller is not pumping up to par.

I appreciate the feedback, I'm pretty new to the boating world, so all the info helps. I'll swap out the impeller and see if that makes a difference.
