got a new impeller put in 85hp 1975 evinrude fired it up on muffs seems to be pumping ok runs cool but not getting much out of exaust holes heads stay cool no alarm ive seen pictures with alot water comming out of exaust holes dont want to mess something up

Might wanna run a hose up the water tube to flush it out and clean out any debris, but im sure someone will jump in will another possible problem, gl

Water that comes out of the exhaust relief holes is just incidental water that gets blown out with the exhaust gases. Some motors realy blow a lot out. Some not so much. When the t-stats open more water should come out. If she's running cool then don't worry about it.

it will also pump out more water when you're on the water compared to running it on muffs, big difference.

those motor really don't like muffs, they prefer test tanks.
