Nice, Congrats

Thanks baylake.

I went to fire up the generator (been awhile) and the raw water pump was locked up. I sprayed some lubricant on the shaft and forced it free. I believe it was from the battery leak damage and not the impeller itself. She has been running for a couple hours now with no problems. We will see!

I've been at this for awhile....no results.....I need some help! Where to buy!

I have these 12V recessed lights that need replaced. These are Guest. Brand is not important, but quality is. The cut-out is 13"X5".

Any ideas?

Thanks Philster, I may have to go with them.

I like the gold trim on the ones I have. I can't even find a ballast for these. I've spent enough time looking, with no luck yet. I may just strip the fixture and install LED if necessary.

Typical Monday! I'm just spinning my wheels.... tied to the dock....and getting nowhere.

Have you tried a local electrical supply house? Or Grainger? You could check online with them.

Yup...Fireman. Decided these things are too much outdated for me to replace. I've been sittin' here all day in her salon searching the www. Nothing I like...or can even live with. Dang, all I get done is tearing things apart!

I think my next search will be for a couple LED that I can install in the gutted rectangle can...then replace the trim as origional.

The floresent tubes are F8T5CW...X2....Not much.

I have 1" clearance between the can and the lens.

I'll cut a couple holes in this thing and install a couple 12V LED's.......if possoble...Then....I'm on my way to happiness!

Suggestions on a couple LED's

You could also pig tail in 2 premade LED assemblies. Might go a bit quicker. Either way, I have full confidence in you.

I'm currently (pun intended) wiring a pole barn. If I can give you any advice let me know. :D

I have at least 5 to convert.....so need a dozen. Gimme a lead.......I'm ordering!

Hey Sasto..
How much light are you expecting or needing? These fixtures are the main source of light?
I see the other lamps illuminating over the mirrors, will you change those as well??

Try this as a start. If you don't like it, just search 12v LED lights and settle in to start reading...

I would like as much light as the 2 florescent tubes give out. Each room has AC and DC lighting. I'm good with the AC lighting. All the DC are the overhead type I'm trying to replace. Every one of them has at least one ballast out. The ballast unit is hard to find. I want to disasemble the fixture and add LED. Thanks!

Thanks, Fireman, I may have to spend another rainy day on the internet. DANG! Hopefully our expert lighting man will lead the way. Pigtailing a couple LED's would be fine with me!

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad.

almost anything LED can be retrofitted to that reflector from the fixture.
Those 8 watt flourescent lamps were putting out aprox 400 lumens each.
The LED sticks posted above are just over 6 lumens per diode..The biggest one I saw on their website had 24 diodes, so about 140 lumens.
Even my led strands that I posted the link to above are 180 lumens, 2 of them will get you close to one of the old F8T5 lumen output.
Bear in mind we are simply using lumens as a reference. Color may be a whole nother story.
CW or cool white in the industry is a 4100 to 4200 kelvin. Some of the LED stuff is very low in the kelvin range, and some really high..The higher the kelvin, the "bluer" the light. The lower the kelvin, the more yellow you wll have

Thanks for the info, Kev! Now I have something to go with. This knowledge would probably have taken me all day to come up with.

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad.

I'd be happy to sample you some product.
My best stuff (the fiber optic tube in the posted pic) needs a constant current power supply (transformer) with 120v in and then the 12 v constant current to the drivers.
Those fixtures are straight DC?
