hey guys i recently purchased a cream puff 1981 chapparel model 194 with an evinrude 90 hp OB. the boat and motor is in excelent shape recent re upholstery new floor and transom early this spring. it came with a down rigger, garmin depth finder, garmin gps unit, marine band (ship to shore) radio, stereo system and stocked with new pfd's ready for the water. with the exception of needing a new helm and steering cable but for 150 bucks and a couple hours work i had it changed out no problem... i am in south georgia where its either hot or raining.. or both, but on dry days i have a small lake 2 miles from my house and a large lake 2 hours away... so far i have enjoyed my new toy. the wife and kids love it... i found this forum while looking at the iboats website. so far great group of folks here. i am sure i will have many questions about things as i learn the boating lifestyle.. as a matter of fact i have a question already when replacing my steering cable i had to disconnect my outboard from the transom to get the old cable out of the tilt tube and almost immediately bolted it right back down. but should there have been sealant between the two mating surfaces or around bolts coming thru the transom? if so what works best as i do not want to start the new transom to rot...
