Hello All,

I'm new around these parts, I recently came into possession of a 1967 Glastron and it came with a 50hp Mercury Outboard, S/N 4076944 which I believe is a 1974. and a parts motor. I am in need of a replacement throttle, as the mercontrol throttle that came with it, has a cut cable and the wiring appears to be dry rotted. I'm having difficulty locating parts that are compatible, every website i happen to run across either wont take my serial number, or give me the options i need.

The serial # checks out as a 74.
Most Mercury remotes thru the 70s, 80s, and 90s, will function properly regarding the throttle and shift cables. The electrical will usually work, though some changes were made to the wiring Harnesses. You need to get a wiring diagram for your engine
Have your tried iboats for parts?

Thank you for the reply, I’m working through navigating it. It appears nomenclature is tripping me up with the majority of my searches,

looking at the connector on my engine, it is closest to this:

except my engine connector does not have that center most pin. Assuming that works, I suppose I could then wire that into the throttle I have. Then my next thing to tackle is throttle cables.

cant wait to get this out on the water.

cables are installation specific when it comes to length, so measure what you need and buy new. they are cheap.
