Just wanted to say hello, and that I have been reading these forums for most of the winter while looking for my 1st boat. I have boated for many years, but never my own.
So this week end, went with my dad and a friend of ours to an auction. They had a few boats of which were not worth nothing, but this one, just kept calling my name, so I bid.
Ended up with a 1975 Thompson marine 7522 fisherman with a ford 302 in it. Guess I can't complain, I won it for $500 with a tandem axle trailer as well. Already set for fishing as well with 2 powered downriggers and plenty of pole space.
It's the pretty Gold color of the 70's which I will be replacing interior wise over the next winter along with a few other things. For most part, the boats is strong and solid, floor is good, but will need to be replaced next winter.
Now I just wait for paper work to get it titled and registered and on the lakes in between umpiring baseball and track and baseball for my boys.
So since Saturdays & Sundays off, guess where we will be...
Ted
