If you go Easypoxy, definitely go with their primer. I'm having serious adhesion issues on the bottom. I did not prime. I thoroughly scuffed the existing paint job which was in great shape. I was under the impression this was acceptable. Apparently not.

Re: New Member, New Boat...Well New To Me

Thanks for the advise....

Well, Ran her with the ears today for an hour or so....

Then I got brave through the Wife and Kid in the truck, towed the ss to Michigan City, and went for a cruise along the beach...I was suprised how well this boat tracked and handled even in 2' chop. With the 115 poneys she scooted well. The only issues I found, First it grinds when going into gear, second On the idle in it stalled often.

I believe I need to clean the carbs out, and recheck my lower-end lube. Does the throtle cable adjustment help with the grind?

Thanks All!

Ignore if you already know this.....but you don't ease outboards into gear. Quick shifts are key. They have dog clutches so you do them no favors by easing them in and they will grind if you don't. However, if you weren't doing this...then it could be a shift cable adjustment.

I believe it is an adjustment issue, I didn't ease it in.

I saw a Carb-Clean for two Cycles, Should I use it to clean out the carbs
