Hello all, new to this site. Found it while re starting my project 1970 Starcrfaft.
Started on her nine years ago, yes nine.
Anyways after putting in a new transom I found pitting on the stern around motor area.
This is where I'm stumped. How do I fix these small holes before I paint her???

Re: New member, old project

Welcome to Iboats 2many! The first rule around here, especially in a restoration thread is to post pictures. We're interested in helping anyone with their problems, cuz many of us have been there and done that already, but we need pictures of your project and pictures of your problem. You'll find many restoration threads, including some that have repaired your problem. Fortunately, my restoration (see link in my signature below) didn't have any severe pitting. I believe others have used JB Weld to fill these, but I defer to those who have specific experience with it to respond. - Grandad

I second Grandad's post. Pictures always conveys more then typed words could even. So post those pictures and lots of replies will follow... And who knows, some replies will even be good ones too...

Thanks Grandad, I have some pics and soon as I figure out how to post I will.
This will be my second Starcraft resto, the first being a Chieftan with my dad in the late 70's, I was just a pup then.

Welcome
Best way to get pics is open a photobucket account.
Upload to there, then copy their image code here after pressing the picture icon in the reply box
I am going through the same issue, but not pinholes, some pretty good sized areas of corrosion.
If your holes are very small, then yes JB weld with an inner piece of flashing on the other side on anything bigger than a pinhole.
