Re: new member question/opinion

we happen to have a young member who lives in Dawsonville, or near there, i believe. going to send him a PM to look at this. as far as Lanier is concerned see the boat before you buy. they are a junk yard. they have good and bad.
Tashasdaddy, you got it close enough.:D I don't live in Dawsonville, but the first name is Dawson, so I can see where you were confused.

As far as the Lanier Marine Liquidators place is concerned, I wouldn't buy from them again unless they had something extremely rare, and that I wanted really bad. My first boat came from there. The boat was a 1974 Lund fish n ski, and the motor was one of those gawshawful hydroelectric shift Johnsons. They were very misleading, and aren't at all reasonable on their prices. That being said, knowing what I do now, I wouldn't buy anything from them, unless it something I just HAD to have, and am willing to pay a pretty penny for. Now, I would probably buy my Lund over again, as anyone in the southeast knows how uncommon they are down here, and I really like them. But, for your average starter boat, especially since you don't have a good grasp of what needs to be checked, and what the reasonable prices are, I would stay well clear of them.
