​Here are some pics of what is under the floor, no evidence of anything like a bulkhead glassed in between stringers, but somebody cut this thing up pretty bad when replacing the deck at some time. The notch in the stringers are 4' 6" from the toeboard in the front, there are also notches under the splashwell area for the plywood joints to rest on. The glass is cut on both sides of each stringer down to the hull, if you look close you can see the screwholes in the top of the stringers so they can rot from the inside out as well as outside in.

Looks similar to mine but my outside stringers are only like an inch x an inch

The keel stringer is about a 1x6 and the 2 outers are 1x4 or so, then buried in the hull are some 1x2 that look like supports for the hull when on the trailer, to low for the deck to lay on.

I made a little progress this weekend, got the transom finished and put the cap back on. Going to start cutting stringers out next, but right now its time for the Packer game.

Ive made some progress since my last post, Sanding and grinding is done, Stringers are in and fillets formed, I should be able to get them glassed in during the week. I used the old stringers for templates when I cut them and still have the 1/4" crown in the center for water drainage to the sides. Thinking ahead to the deck....I plan to glass the bottom of the1/2 plywood before installing, will it flex enough with glass on it to lay on the stringers? I don't want to stress the hull or stringers in some funky way, the span acrros the stringers is only 33". Maybe I should bow the pieces a little when laying the mat/resin, I was planning to make the deck in 3 pieces, or should I plan on a joint down the middle? Sorry if it sounds like I'm rambling just thinking out loud so to speak.

If you coat it with resin and then lay down one layer of CSM it will be fine. I'd recommend laying it length wise. The plywood flexes better in a side to side configuration.

Well our unseasonably warm temps in SE WI have ended, Temps went from 60 at noon Friday to low 40s by 4PM. I was able to get the deck glassed over and sealed before it got too cold and am happy with how it turned out. I might get one more warm afternoon to install the kickboard mid-week and then the boat will go to storage for the winter. I have to rework the seats(foam and wood) over the winter and by Spring I will have decided on what covering will go on the deck, Probably some kind of marine coating, I can still carpet over it later if I want.

Kind of a blury pic of the floor after glassing. Havent done much since finishing the floor in December, I have rebuilt the pedestals for the seats and cut new ply for the cushions and backrests, going to sand the edges and give them a coat of paint before putting the foam and upholstery on. I ordered some cocoa brown carpet for the floor and will cover the seat pedestals with it too. I bought a marine fuse panel and battery shut-off switch, as soon as the weather gets better I will rewire things and start putting carpet and seats in.....I'm ready for winter to be done.

Fine looking craft! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the carpet you purchased for it. When I redo mine, I'm leaning further towards keeping with the original colors. I'm thinking about trying to find a used heavier sewing machine for the upholstery, as I haven't found a local place at a price I can stomach. Anyhow, looking forward to more progress pics and hopefully catching up to you on the big pond!

I bought the carpet from iboats, enough to do floor, seat pedestals and flotation boxes. I chose the dark brown because the interior panels have dark brown on them and it wont show dirt as much. I hear ya on the upholstery prices, I'm on the fence about having mine redone or reusing the covers, they are in useable condition just a little faded and worn in some spots. I'm sticking with original color for the seats when I do have them redone so to match the rest of the interior. I was looking at JoAnne Fabrics yesterday but the Marine vinyl they have is kind of thin and nothing in the color I need, I guess 1970's Gold vinyl isn't popular anymore. I'm going to check Kendor marine and see what I can come up with to recover a couple of the small panels that are beat up.

Nice! Thank you for the info! Sounds like a solid plan, my covers are unfortunately cracked in a few of the corners, so they'll need replacing.

I thought I would update my progress for those interested, Its been hard to find the exact color vinyl to recover the seats so I decided to replace the seats in order to get the boat done faster. I found 4 new folding seats at a good price and built bases for them to mount on, the 2 rear facing seats can be removed from the base and set on a 9" pedestal pole for fishing a little more comfortably. I also was able to build a locking hinged lid under the rear seats for storage compartments. The boxes have a little recline angle to them for comfort, and the rear pin mounts add a little more angle to that so rear facing passengers wont feel like they are sliding out the seats. The carpet is all cut just waiting for good warmer weather to glue it all in and put the interior back together, I have the fuse block and switches in and wired up. Once the carpet is in things will be happening faster with the reassembly, but not until we get past this cold, damp weather......

I built these boxes to have lockable storage for stuff, I can keep the 9" pedestals under here too.
