HELLO from miami,I just joined so please bear with me.I'm set to retire in a year and have not boated in along time. I've been somewhat researching the world cats 26-30 range used market anticipating this move in the future. I saw the different models like the liesure cat and the SF,EC etc. and trying to see what would be my best option. I'll be doing alot of fishing(hopefully) but also going out with the family as well.Wife wants for overnighters as well..I know this is jumping the gun as i'm a year away. But would like to be as much informed as possible.Hopefully someone who was in my same position or is can advise.thanks

Have you been on cats in coastal waters? I haven't but was talking to some friends recently about how terrible they handle when running in any chop, turning, etc. I was surprised. So i guess it's one of those things you need to see for yuorself; what a great excuse to charter a fishing trip on one!

If not a charter, at least rent samples of what you are interested in. You're lucky you have a full year so take your time, try as many as you can and take good notes. Who knows what you might end up with? It might not look like anything you are currently considering.

thanks i guess it depends who u talk to as i heard the contrary about the handling in chop etc. And yes a charter would be an option considering how much time i have. Heard of the beast? they r here in miami.
