I was just wondering if anybody here could tell me if the new mercury optimax series is made up of 2 or 4 strokes? It is an option on the boat I'm looking at and want to make sure I get a 4 stroke.
Optis are clean 2-strokes. DFI 2-strokes in general beat 4-strokes in holeshot, fuel efficiency, and top end. Not by a bunch. My concern is with longevity. Optis are a bit touchy.
