New Minn Kota Trolling Mtr Shaft

I use a 34# trolling motor to push a 19' Cuddy Cabin from a transom kicker motor bracket. I want to also use the trolling motor on the bow which requires a much longer shaft. I can purchase a 60" replacement shaft from Minn Kota. Question 1: How difficult is it to remove the 36" shaft from the threaded motor housing? Question 2: What do I use to seal the new shaft into the motor housing?
