New motor do I get a seloc or factory manual?

All,
I just picked up my new to me motor this week and will be installing it this weekend. I need a new manual for service procedure and maint work. Would you all recommend a factory manual or something on-line like a seloc manual?

Factory, no question, they are a little bit more but well worth the extra.

Selocs cover as many as 20+ different engines where a factory manual covers your engine and nothing else.

no brainer. OEM Factory. outboardbooks.com, or go to ebay, use advance search. Searayman 13. they have most factory manuals at reduced prices, new and used. just send them a message. i have bought several from them, so have other members.

Tried to look him up, no joy. Maybe he doesn't sell anymore :confused:

I got a Seloc for my 2003 Johnson. So far I have no complaints however I have no basis for comparison against the Factory.

So far I have used the manual to trouble problems with power trim, trim gauge, tachometer and temp gauge. The only problem I haven't solved yet is the temp gauge simply because I have not had enough time to complete the process.

Also you might check on-line also. When I got my boat it had no paper work other than the title. I was able to download the owners manual and better yet a complete set of wiring diagrams. Between the Seloc and the wiring diagrams I think I have most of the bases covered.
