Been busy rigging new controls for 2004 Yamaha 90-2S, yea I know should have had it one in a couple hours! but Rain and work and such..Anyway this new Yamaha has been in the back of my truck for three weeks. Wondering?
Are the cable ends in the crate? Got new ends for the 704 control in its box.
Are motor bolts there?
Does a link arm come with the motor?

Just wondering because the sucker is rightly heavy to just slide out and open. Will be setting it this weekend less more heavy rain comes!

Well finally set the motor. In the crate was

1. Link Arm
2. Fuel Line and primer bulb
3. Engine Mounting Bolts
4. Cable ends 10/32 thread and Link Arm nuts
5. Emergency pull cord

No trim harness Box had a X cut in it some one had there hand in the pocket where its all stored.

Battery cables were there. They are attached to the motor, Was real glad to see them as I understand Yamaha cables are expensive and did not know if the old OMC ones would work. Have a question about the trim lock ..will post it under its own title for future searches on the subject.

Re: New motors in Crate Whats There?

about typical
I would like to see dealer franchises pulled for selling motors in the box. would improve consumer relations if they did. there was/is a dealer in the richmond VA area that does it all the time. sell a motor in a box AFTER removing the battery cables, oil tanks, mounting bolts, prop attaching hardware and other loose items that are shipped in the box. they then sell the motor at a discount and sell the other items, that came with it, to the customer at retail or just above retail.that is if the customer actually knows they need it. usually the consumer has the motor home and is trying to cobble/jury rig it together and something goes horribly awry. I deal with it on a weekly basis.
some dealerships in my area wont work on anything that the computer says was sold at that particular dealer. by franchise contract the dealer must do warrenty work, however it does not set the time frame for the work to be done.

The X was a cross + cut exactly where the pocket was in the box, some one punched thru the strofoam to get in there. Every thing you described was there except the trim harness, thats for the gauges. I saw the plug on the motor where it would go.
