New NHL season!

I'm ready more than ever! Here in the land of basketball, I knew next to nothing about hockey except that the players spent a lot of time fighting. Last spring, I had a long layover in Vancouver, BC. My copilot, a young lady 17 years younger than me, spent a whole playoff game in the bar at the Flying Beaver explaining to me things like "line", "slapshot" and "empty net". In a bar full of red blooded Canadians, it was a bit emasculating, but the the girl knew her hockey!

There is nothing like sitting in the @$%$#$% Beaver watching hockey on a Friday night waiting for your flight, which is the second flight, you cancelled the first flight because the game was to good to miss.

(and also it was 12c in Van and -20c at home! LOL)
