I bought a new 40 nissa 2 stroke oil injected with trim, electric start. I am putting this on my lund ssv16 ( basic aluminum with bench seats stlye). This is max size for this boat and wonder if motor may over rev cause of lighter boat? So any idea's on prop selections or if the standard one will be good enough. thanks for any feedback!!

As in any prop consideration you need to put the motor on to the boat, initially level the antiventilation plate with the bottom and load you normal maount of gear and people. Then test run your rig and watch the tachometer. If you're within the max recommended rm range at wot, your prop dimensioin is fine.

Before performing such tests you should break it in as recommended in the manual etc.

Once the tests are done and you know how it performs or what problems you think it has, get back to us and we'll suggest solutions.

Ditto with UU.

In my opinion, I would rather break in a new engine with a borderline underpitch prop too, which you may possibly have, since you won't be having the engine under a lot of strain while hitting the RPM's.

You may try to overrev with the standard prop, but just don't open the throttle past the max. rpm range.

And, post back here later, and I'm sure you will get plenty of advice.

In the meantime, I would also read up on some of the prop site "advice" sections (like miwheel.com, etc., and you may not even need us (hehe).
