I installed a new primer bulb/hoses to the tank on my johnson 120 VRO. When I squeeze the bulb(before starting the engine) the bulb gets flat and takes forever to fill back up. Where should I start troubleshooting this?

Fuel restriction between the bulb and tank. Anti-siphon valve at a built-in tank?

Make sure the arrow on the bulb is pointing toward the mtr.

Its an external 12 gallon tank. I checked the fuel pickup/filter in the tank and looked clean. I'm starting to believe its the bulb itself even though its brand new. Once it finally DOES fully inflate, the engine starts up fine and runs perfectly. It's just VERY VERY slow to inflate after squeezing it. Once its fully inflated it stays that way while the engine runs.

Well, I still think there is a restriction. An old, soft, gooey bulb may be that mooshy, but a new one should respond right away. Maybe you have a defective bulb with a bad inlet check valve. I'm surprised it runs ok. I would expect it to starve out and run lean at high speed---VERY bad for the motor.
