New old boat

Thinking about purchasing a 1985 Boston Whaler Outrage. Can anyone tell me a little about his boat?

The Outrages of the 80s were (are) about the best boats in that size range ever built, Key-z. For my priorities they are better boats than BW has made since.

Details vary from one size to another, but all are unsinkable, light and fast for their size, stable, expensive and hold their value as well as a Rolls Royce.

They are aimed at salt water fishermen, so they aren't heavy on creature comforts or a boulevard ride.

I have had two Outrage 18s ('81 and '83) and am currently looking at a '79 Outrage 20.

Boston Whalers are sort of like Mercedes Benz and BMW. . . once you have had one you don't want anything else.

Fantastic! That's just what I wanted to hear. I have a 13' Boston Whaler and a 17' Seaquirt. I just love my Whaler over the SeaSquirtIts.' not as stable. Just last week someone offered to sell me their 18' 1985() Outrage. The boat has been sitting in the sun for awhile and will need some refurbishing. The engine looks great but I was unable to start it. I think gas must have been left in the carburators. All in all, the owner has taken it to the shop for repair. Compression test is scheduled for this Sunday morning.
