Hello my first post on the forums with a new old boat. I was just given a old Starcraft jet start boat. It needs a lot of work. I'm trying to find out what year the thing is. The Johnson 40hp on it is a 1970 and the Pamco trailer that the boat is sitting on is a 1970. Serial# 913218, can anyone here help?
Thank you for your time.....

Given a Jetstar huh? Nice! !
When you learn how, post pictures or a link to a photobook type account.

Sorry i was really busy yesterday and didn't have a chance to get any pic's of the boat. I'll do my best to get some posted this week. Is there any place i can go to find the year of the boat?

Re: New old boat

if your boat still has the manufacturer hull Id tag (usually located inside port side of splashwell or in that area), the first 2 digits of the year on old SCs often are the build year.

My tag was next to the controls. There was only the model and the serial number on it. After going and getting it registered i found out that it is a 1970. I'll see if i can get these pictures posted tomorrow.

Like barato said, the first 2 numbers of the serial number are normally the year. Like 70-xxxxxx. Anyways, congrats on a cool boat for free!
