Sorry, missed the question about the tanks. They all look to be single line. I think... Some are metal with glass eyes some are plastic. At least three of them are filled with old fuel.

Supernaut, nice boat! wish my small tinnie looked that good when it arrived. and for $175 and a used shell......

your comment on the fuel got me thinkin (dangerous, i know....): what does everyone do with old gas? i used to just run it through my truck at rate of 1 gallon of old gas to a tankful of premium when i was about to hit the road and burn off tank in a day or so, but that was when i had a carbureted truck. now with fuel injection, i'm nervous about sludge clogging 10-micron filters. anyone got any suggestions??

I mostly keep it stockpiled in other gas cans for when we are living in Mad Max times. Otherwise I will burn it off while burning brush from spring clean up on my parent's land.

Depending on your area there are also some recycling centers that will take it off your hands. Sometimes they'll even reimburse you.

Didn't get to tear into her like I planned this weekend due to weather.

The wind and rain let up enough for me to give her a good intial clean out, demousing and take a quick inventory.

I discovered some hidden items in the process. I found what I think is the correct control box for the motor which appears to be in working condition (once I add new cables). I also found a brand new set of trailer lights.

Pictures of the scavenger hunt are here.

There are a couple of interior parts that have me stumped regarding location.

I think the gas cans are all shot. The gas inside them was orange varnish and there is a lot of rust. There was also a Johnson control box that looks thrashed.

Once the now vacant mouse house was wet/dry vacced out of the motor housing I think I'm looking at something that is in workable shape. Major intial hassle is that I couldn't free up the the pin that holds the motor in the tilted position. It has a grease fitting so I'm hoping that I'll get it freed up during the week.

I'm also going to harbor freight this week to pick up a rivet gun while I have a little cash on hand. Weather permitting next weekend I'll get the motor off on begin the floor removal.

Knowing nothing about what it's going to take to get it running, I felt optomistic when it was cleaned out yesterday. Especially finding the right control box in the boat. I'm having a friend who does know what he's doing take a peek this week. I'm guessing now that I shoud be affraid of what he tells me.

I do have a line on two well kept used motors that are somewhat resonably priced as a fall back. The cost of a complete replacement will push back the launch but then again so will the cost of a complete rebuild.

I'm not setting a timeframe right now. Getting the boat in shape was always stage one in my mind.

Maybe I should step back and make sure the poweplant is taken care of first.

Still hoping she might be reasonably salvageable for at least one season though.
