Clams Canino <br /><br />I have a 1977 mercury 175 model 1750 ser 4589090 my ? is how do I set the time I have no decal the manul say to set at cranking speed and line the mark with on the flywheel with the notch in the cowl dose <br />this sound right it dosnt give my any degee just to line marks with notch

I have the same motor as well fuel lines on motor look correct.As stated,I would use a portable tank to begin with.Get your self a connector for the motor a primer buld,and some fuel line.If this motor has'nt been run in a long time,I personally would give each cyl. a shot of oil,and turn it over manually a little first.Unless it has been stored properly.Connect your fuel lines mix your fuel 50:1.Prime the bulb till its hard,then squeeze it a couple more times.(These motors are supposed to be hard at cold start,do this,and it will be easy.Mine starts easily with this method).Choke it,and turn the key,do not forget to hook up your ear muffs.Do not run it over 1500 rpm's with muffs on.When it does fire,make sure you have water coming out.

hey if you end up finding the powerhead went to crap I have a 79 90hp all wired and ready to set on top of your lower unit, along with the controls and wiring for your tilt/trim unit!
