When I log on it's fine but when I back out to the main menu there is a 20%-50% chance it will pull an old file from memory therfore not show new posts or new post indicators. If I refresh it will do so correctly or I can go ahead and link anyways and it will load fine. I have cleared the cookies before and it only helps for a short while, same with history cache. I assume it is cookie related but is the a setting I can change to give iboats new cookies a higher preferance or some other way to correct this quirk. It's not major just an annoyance when it happens.

As long as you use the "Back" button to navigate, the browser will pull the page out of the cache to speed things up. Try training yourself to click on "iboats Boating Forums" or other in-webpage links for navigation.<br />The way I understand it, there is no way to keep the 'Back' button from pulling from the cache. Some web designers hate those buttons for that reason. <br />Personally, I think they need to relax, & take a pill. :) <br />Or go boating. :D <br />This has nothing to do with cookies - whether a post is marked "new" or not does.

I follow what your saying, I wasn't to clear as to the problem. On occasion it will pull a page from several days ago, as opposed to returning to the screen I just flashed through...Does that make better sense.

Hmm - that is very odd. <br />It's conceivable that those pages are coming from your ISP's web cache, if they are operating one. I don't know how many still do. I take it you're not running some strange web accellerators or something right?<br />Have you tried a different browser (say, Mozilla or Opera) to see if it happens there?<br />Oh, is this a new problem?

No ISP cache, no accelerators, Same browser IE5.5 on windows me, This is the only site it happens on. The problem is about 6 mos old, I have reloaded everything twice recently due to other unrelated problems problems. The occurance of this is eradic, sometimes several times in a row and sometimes non occuring for days in a row.

Try this:<br /><br />From an IE window, <br />click "Tools"<br />click "Internet Options"<br />click the "General" tab if it is not already on top.<br />In the Tempory Internet Files section, click "Settings"<br />Where it says "Check for newer versions of stored pages",<br />click "every visit to the page"<br />click "ok" and "ok" to close the windows, then give it a try.
