I came across this product today and thought I might share it with others who might have a similar need for a waterproofing solution. Hopefully it will help someone. I plan to try it after the summer season passes. I plan to remove everything from the inside of the boat and do my entire inside of the hull and then I plan to coat the entire flooring plywood with it on both sides before I reinstall it. I also plan to install some of the pour in expanding foam in the floor cavity after I let this coating cure properly. I really don’t have too but I think for my own peace of mind that I will. I know that if my boat were to capsize I wouldn’t have any problem getting to safety but if I had others with me and they were injured or worse it would probably hurt me worse than if I had drowned myself. So I’m going to get my boat to the required amount of floatation or better if possible. As far as the boat is concerned, I have been working on it more every day. I had a water intrusion in my lower unit that I discovered the other day. I had checked and changed the gear lube just before I put it in the water for my first time. And after I had the shift and throttle problem and didn’t get to take it out for a ride just loaded it up came back home something made me take a look at a few things. I checked the lower unit lube and it was milky! Checked the thermostat and it was a totally gummed up mess. So I ordered some more stuff and got them in and put the new thermostat, inside round gasket and the housing gasket. As for the lower unit, I pulled the prop and did a pressure test to determine where the leak was and I believe it was from the shaft seals, so I replaced the big o ring and the two seals that are the same but facing back to the together. I have to get some new gear lube and refill it before I can even put muffs on it to see if it was fixed. Just hoping I don’t have to go deeper into it. I note on the thermostat, I don’t believe that the guy I had look it over didn’t even look at the thermostat. He probably just ran it and it didn’t overheat and the pee stream got warm so he said it is fine. Well I am one of those guys that I want to know it’s in good condition so I pulled it out and it was terrible. It had so much crud caked on it that if it was working properly it wouldn’t have lasted very long. Anyway it is new now so I know it’s good. Been doing a lot of research and reading about boat motors and maintenance on them. I have read about how the Japanese boat owners are very knowledgeable about how they operate and maintain their boats and motors to last for many decades. I am not saying they are any smarter than we are but we don’t seem to be as meticulous about things as they are. I remember being in Okinawa in the 1970s and they had laws about the proper upkeep of vehicles. There inspections were very strict and your vehicle could not have any kind of damage to it or it failed. So I believe we could learn something about proper maintenance of our boats from them and possibly some other things also. Well I guess I have said enough. Good Evening
